Textures in Close Up

A Stop-Motion and Sound Improvisation Workshop for kids and their parents

How do we explore a collection of Contemporary and Traditional art works in close-up?

In December 2024, Weave team organised a playful visit to the Museum Vorre’s collection, where we discovered colors and shapes, while also listening to—or imagining—the sounds that fill the space of the artworks. By focusing on different visual and sonic textures, we will observe images and objects from both modern and contemporary works of art.

Afterwards, children and parents gathered together with paper, scissors, sound-making objects, and audiovisual tools to create a short stop-motion video. Inspired by video art and the Avant-Garde.

The video captures, in an abstract, rhythmic, and joyful way, the colorful and multi-layered audiovisual landscape of the museum.
