Rigoletto

A multi-sensory opera experience for infants and toddlers

Inspired by Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto, this project creates a multimedia world of sound, image, and movement, introducing children to opera through sensory exploration and active participation.

Starting from the aria La donna è mobile and drawing inspiration from natural landscapes—particularly the fascinating world of birds—themes such as change, transformation, and escalation are explored through an immersive, hands-on approach.

In a specially designed visual environment

moving images and colors intertwine with natural soundscapes, reimagined musical motifs from Rigoletto, and live music performed by members of the ensemble. This creates an open learning space, rich in auditory and visual stimuli, where young audiences and their guardians are encouraged to interact, observe, and respond to the evolving landscapes and patterns.

The performance

does not follow the conventional form of a theatrical production. Instead, it creates an engaging, multi-sensory environment—open to imagination and play—and offers an invitation for direct interaction with the world of opera.
